Is it possible? To prevent violence in school?

Source
School is somewhere students learn and expand their knowledges in different aspects and each individual has the privilege of developing their skills in a peaceful and calm the environment, teachers and educators must mind the culture and imagination of their students and adapt to their needs and solving anxieties requires a great amount of respect and discipline. It also is a place meeting new kinds of people and developing social skills and experiencing new and useful manner for various subjects. School indicates the fundamental basis of a sustainable living or a bright future but violence, bullying and even massacres in school refracts all of the positive quarters and results to division, severe and mental physical trauma to the victims or perpetrators and furthermore, it also is a major problem around the world but what really causes it? Unfortunately, it’s very hard giving an answer regarding these kind issues, everybody posses different opinions but I will still do my best!
First, the main cause of school violence depends on the individuals who commits it. usually, they experience difficult situations in living, both mentally and socially. Perhaps, the offenders are really frustrated whether it's some kind of bullying by other folks, peer pressure, impulses from several origins (computer games, parents, friends etc.) or concerns in family. A lot of also suffers from some kind of diseases or mental problems, such as Kipland Kinkel, who at the age of only 15 murdered his parents leaving two students dead and 25 others wounded in Thurston High School in Springfield Oregon United States in 1998. He struggled with the curriculum, the teachers even regarded him as immature, lacking physical and emotional skills and was diagnosed with dyslexia at fourth grade. Obviously, Kip had interests in firearms, explosives and guns which perhaps is the main reason concerning his shooting of nearly 30 people in high school. He was only 15 and sentenced for 111 years of prison. Kip is decent example of people committing school violence but needless to say, there still are several other reasons to these kinds of issues.
Other significant causes of school violence is as well a lack of relations between school, community

and individuals. Furthermore, if young students are not taught at an early age the consequences and cons regarding violence, it gets more unlikely avoiding it, alongside parents or in the classroom. I don't find punishment as “correct” of violence approaches. Certainly teachers or the principal may blame the violent students and rarely doesn’t do anything “enhancing” the situation or solving the problem. School need to resolve problems before they escalate and it’s essential having a perception of the background, it would be safer and more resistant then. Replacing the usage of surveillance to punish the student with the educational base and an equal cooperative environment discourages students committing violence which provide them a perception of handling individual and social conflicts and promote good relationships between everyone. So a role model is very useful for this kind of concerns, if everybody is nice at school, the “bad” kid eventually will be kind-hearted, the same assumption as peer pressure. If all of your friends encourages you to smoke, you eventually would buy some cigarettes once in a while. It’s similar at other situations at home, if the parents raise their children with discipline, they gradually will become respectful to people they encounter. If the parents are prejudiced or harsh, their children would likely develop more aggressive characteristics.

Supposingly, school massacres are more common in larger cities and more populous countries such as Stockholm in Sweden or the United States but why? Why do school violence occur in Finland and America but not in Sweden or Umeå?
First of all, Finland has one of the most liberal gun politics in the world, ranking second place in possessions of weapons per capita among the high income nations, namely the OECD. In the United States then, the current view of gun ownership traces back to the Revolutionary war, at the time America got independency which declared a federal democratic state. To protect themselves from the British colonialists (who had the opposite political opinion and wanted the original thirteen American states returned to the British empire) a law of gun ownership towards civilian people was formed, but as the situation in America has changed a quite little bit since the 18th century, these kinds of issues are very controversial and have contributed to a staggering increase of crimes. In Sweden, only people with a special permit can possess a weapon, whether it is guns or knives. There is more accessibility to weapons in Finland and America and that’s of course the main reason. As well, note that the perpetrators of the school massacres in Finland only were adults and divisive or diverse societies such as Stockholm or Los Angeles are more likely to suffers crime and compared to their more harmonious counterparts, like Umeå and if the responsible agitates to these troubles, they fail working together with other schools and the community escalating the occurrence of criminality rapidly.

The weak relations between commune/municipality office, educators and students also intensifies the risk of violence in schools, people with different backgrounds, ethnic, social, individual etc. and if problems occur, it’s hard for people seeking for help or assistance suiting their individual needs. In Umeå for instance, and the major portion of Sweden, we have lots of Special pedagogues/psychologists educated to solve these kind of problems in schools or youth clinics, people similar to, for instance Kip Kinkel could easily find assistance towards his disabilities and maybe, he wouldn’t even touch a gun preventing a coming school massacre. Note that this is just a speculation or theory by me and other people certainly have different opinions. Nevertheless, how about the mental health of adolescents around the world then? There are tons of teenagers in the World, even Umeå suffering mental illness and due to the different societies and communities these youths live in, there also receive different kinds of impact. Some youths suffering mental disorders probably get treated and other continue their living with disabilities, doing crimes etc. but In general, I find youth around the world and Sweden feeling quite well, it really depends on you're location.

My final conclusions.
  • The reasons behind a school massacre usually depends on the perpetrator who commits it, it could be personal mental- and social issues, difficult situations or bullying by other folks etc. For short, individual problems.
  • But also relations between school, friends, communities, peer pressure, how well parents raise their children, impulses from other people, the Internet, the way schools punishes the “guilty” person and solving issues before they escalate etc. For short impersonal problems.
  • The cause behind our inexperience regarding to these kind of events in Sweden is mainly because of our gun policies, Finland and America has more liberal weapon laws so the risk of people committing crimes increases, our societies, the Swedish community is simply much more harmonious compared to the American. The lack of assistance for people with disabilities, integration between students, pedagogues, psyciatrists and of course, the communal office.
  • The occurrence of school massacres can not be prevented but the risks can be lowered, every situation is different and needs each of them needs a particular way of solving, every people are different and various countries has different societies and laws. However, I assume that people who are having the willing of committing violence in school could change their minds so it could be prevented but that’s nearly an impossible presumption to be betrayed.
  • I presume, teenagers in general feel very well, actually, it varies a lot.
