The mobile phone is a very useful tool, it's a great way contacting your friends by social media, email and instant messages etc. In addition, it also can take pictures, record videos, play games or listening to your favorite music. The phone just works like a "portable computer". This tiny little device has become a major part of many peoples life and makes it much easier, such as listening to your favorite song or searching for some information.
The phone is a portion of my life but not a major one. Using the actual computer is much easier and I'm not the person who always spends their time on the touch screen. Instead, I surf the web, play some video games or even practicing piano and when school/ homework take over entire days, I don't really bother about contacting my friends. It's just much better watching educational videos in youtube or doing school assignments improving you grades. Somehow, my mobile phone is kind of a replacement to the computer. At home, I'm not even touching it but when my family is traveling, it gets more useful for instance. I want to share my moments with my friends, take some nice pictures or calling somebody if necessary. So what´s my conclusion then? The importance if my phone varies depending on the situation. Sometimes, I use it more frequently and vice versa.
Some of my friends don't use their mobile phone much at all and they are just spending the majority of their time playing video/computer games or attending some activities/sports such as football/floor ball. There isn't any room spending the rest of their time playing with the phone, but others who got tons of friends and always need contact or engagement are probably more frequent phone users, it depends on which person I'm explaining to, everybody is different. A lot of teens are not really using their phone for "important" purposes such as staying in touch with your relatives or "colleagues", perhaps discovering the range of things the its capable to do, a new game or some kind of very cool application is what they´re doing the most of the time.
Simultaneously, mobile phones are very important for my parents because they are working at the university/hospital and always receive calls, messages, emails. A phone really has it's value and it definitely makes their life easier and even gives it more order. In contrast, my brother is definitely the opposite, contacting with people by social media or messaging/calling is not important for seven year olds and he's just spending all of the time using the iPad/computer. I really believe phones can be a disastrous problem for educational purposes. Firstly, we already have computers in school (which is better). Secondly, mobile phones can be really distracting, after 20 minutes, where's the focus? On the teacher or the device? In my opinion, phones should be allowed in school but not during class, more restrictions is a good idea and sometimes, taking your phone to lessons isn't really that necessary. At school, you are learning new things, listening to the teacher and focus on your studies, not how many facebook friends you've gotten.
